Hundreds Feared Dead

For the first time since the Imperial liberation of the city, Seperatist insurgents have bombed the Refinery District, also known as the "Black Maze."
Late yesterday, a routine Imperial patrol was dispatched to investigate reports of suspicious activity at a tenement on the 500 block of Sector 7G. As Imperial forces arrived, eyewitnesses reported that an intense firefight with rebel terrorists ensued. As the authorities attempted to bring the chaos under control, the desperate rebels detonated enough explosives to bring the entire building down.
"We still hold hope that we may find survivors, " says Captain Zeven Rost, the Imperial officer in charge of the investigation. "Unfortunately, I think we're in a 'recovery' mission now." Captain Rost declined to speculate on casualty estimates, but neighborhood residents say that "hundreds" of refinery workers and their families lived in the stricken tenement. Captain Rost did confirm that the responding stormtrooper patrol, as well as all of the suicide bombers, had been killed.
"At least these--rebel scum--won't hurt anyone else," Rost replied, his voice choked with emotion.
Moff Gadj's office has released a statement calling for a day of mouring for the innocents killed in the rebel attack, and urged the citizens of Ranjahr to come forward and report any suspicious activity.
